Massive floods in the UK – death toll was enormous including 130 on the Princess Victoria Ferry 130 died in all 307 people died 24,000 homes flooded. 30,000 people homeless 50,000 animals killed. The entire population of Canvey island had to leave 13,000 evacuated to the mainland
