Free event training course!

Live Events and Promotions is one of the fastest growing areas of business activity in the UK. Nationally, it is worth £40 billion to the nation’s economy – and in the Midlands alone the estimated value is well over £6 billion.

Launched today is a FREE event training scheme that will give people working in the Live Events sector the opportunity to develop and enhance their skills. The “Supporting Live Events and Promotions” course is based in the workplace, following an initial three day training programme at the Custard Factory in the creative heart of Birmingham.

Media and Events veteran Mike Owen will be leading the three day programme. Mike believes that this is an opportunity for those working in this sector to obtain a qualification and also be assessed in the workplace.

Mike says:

“This is a brilliant event training programme. I hope my years of experience in events like Party In The Park and the Fusion Festival will stimulate and excite people working in the sector, as well as adding to their potential.”

The criteria for eligibility are quite straightforward. A simple phone call will enable applicants and employers to see if this free course will be perfect for their needs.

This event training programme is funded by the Skills Support for the Workforce fund of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership, and is managed by Gecko Programmes.
